WINTERTIME IN WISCONSIN V3...

Oman, just yesterday I drove the 80 miles down to Milwaukee and hit up a few places I had been wanting to go to, only to come away freakin' EMPTY HANDED : ( I had also planned on taking some pics of Brew City and post them up on various forums I participate in, but the weather absolutely SUCKED once I got down there. It got more rainy the closer I got to the metro area and then fog off of Lake Michigan started rolling in and out and made things worse.

So I was somewhat disappointed in my trip down in some ways, and it's been over a year since I hit up Milwaukee in a big way, so I headed up Interstate 41 back home to the 920. Didn't do too much last evening, but I finally upgraded my internet from fast to faster, so that helps and I was up till 5AM puttering around and streaming music. Went to bed and got up about 11am to hear the rain on my windows. Still tired, I went back to bed and got up at about 1PM and looked out my window and saw about 5 inches of freakin' SNOW on the ground, and it was coming down so hard and fast, that by 5PM I needed to go brush off my car to go to church this evening. It took me over a half hour just to get my car brushed off and scraped. Not likin' that deal too much.

So forgive me, but this is f'n ENOUGH ALREADY. I am just getting tired of all the snow and cold and am feenin' for some WARMER WEATHER. Spring cannot come soon enough.

Anyhoo, keep the faith, Spring is coming soon. I hope.

Later my peeps...

POWER TO THE PEOPLE...

I live nowhere near San Francisco. Have never been there yet. Would love to visit and stay for awhile and take in the culture of one of America's most unique cities.

However, a recent story grabbed my attention, and what I'd like to do is post the link for you to read about a young lady who was struck and killed by a speeding car on a busy street in San Francisco. I read through this story, saw the photos, and decided that the intersection where this young lady was struck down needs some definite improvements somehow. This story touched me because it could be somebody I know or it could be someone you know. It was someone that obviously touched a lot of peoples' lives.

So, I am urging you to do your due diligence and click here to read the story and see the photos for yourself:

Then, if you feel so inclined, please click here to sign the petition to get this dangerous intersection upgraded so no one elso has to be hit or killed by simply trying to cross this busy street:

I signed this petition and I hope you out there do so as well. It would be nice to get to the magical 3000 mark...maybe even exceed it.

Just wanted to do what little I can, thanks to the magic of the internet.

Peace, Love, Sole,

ANOTHER ONE IN THE BOOKS...

Hey! hello once again from the frozen 920... Mixmaster J here... it's late Sunday night as I write this and after last night, I must say that Old Skool Jamzfest: 2009 was a success! Many thanks to my neighbors, personal friends, co-workers and family that made the effort to stop out and have a drink with me while I worked the 1's and 2's... it was a fun, but barely memorable evening hahaha!!

I started off the program at 6PM broadcasting on Free Radio "Serious Jams 88.3FM" which is my local signal I broadcast on to my neighborhood. I dedicated my first hour of jams to the ladies n gents on FSF and gave shout outs to some key members (mzfr3zh, omfg_nicole among others... you ladies rock!) Guests started showing up around 6:45 and all the way through 10PM. Gotta give mad props to my man Mista C-Smoov who came right from work over to The DawgPound at about 8:30 and kicked it with me to the end. Yours truly was consuming some mad libations last evening, and as I write this, and I'm still paying for it. My head has been in a fog all day and man, have I been lethargic. Made it to church this evening and met my bud at Subway for a bite, but I still feel like shit. But, I'll get over it with some more sleep tnight and by tomorrow, I'll be back to my normal self haha!

So now the planning begins for the Old Skool Jamzfest: 2010, which will happen in another 11 months or so. So if you couldn't make it out this year, make plans and join me at my new place (a bigger condo or duplex hopefully). I'm most def outgrowing this place I'm at, and I wanna take it to the next level and go worldwide via live webcast and be able to host a lot more people!

So Lord willing, we'll all get the chance to do it one more time and again next year!

Peace, Love, Sole...
