It was ten years ago today (April 24, 1999) when my beloved dad, "Captain Dan" passed away suddenly after a six month bout with kidney failure/cancer. I am still shocked by it at times, but over time, have accepted it with each passing day. That's the beauty of time. It never allows you to forget those who've passed from this life to the next. Yes, there is still a hole in my heart which will never fully fill up again, but you know what, I've been doing fine and expect to keep on doing so. Wow. Time really does fly by.
You are still missed, Captain, and not a day goes by that I don't think of you at some point.
And I am sure everyone else you touched still remembers you and your witty personality.
Life still hasn't been quite the same without you, but we are managing day by day!
Folks, if you are reading this, take a moment and remember those that meant a lot to you and not forget them and the impact they had on your life. We must never forget those who've left us.
